SINP issued 4,662 invitations in 2023 to candidates who can start their journey in Sakatchewan.

When it comes to Canadian Immigration the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is highly regarded as an option for skilled professionals, entrepreneurs and investors who are looking to obtain permanent residency in Canada.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is a program that enables the province of Saskatchewan to select individuals, for residency, in Canada based on their skills, work experience and potential to contribute to the economy. It was created to cater to the labour market requirements of Saskatchewan and attract immigrants who can contribute towards bolstering growth.

In 2023, The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) issued periodic Invitations to apply throughout the year. There were 4,662 invitations sent to candidates who can start their journey in Saskatchewan.

In the previous year, Saskatchewan issued the first draw on 16 February 2023 with a cut off score of 84, one of the highest scores of the year. This raises the suspicion of when the first SINP draw will be held in 2024 especially since the last draw occurred on 27th December 2023 with a cut off score of 69.

After a 3 month pause, a Draw was held  in October which sent out invitations to 500 candidates divided into Occupations in demand and Express Entry with the NOCs including: 11202, 12013, 12102, 13201, 21301, 21310, 21321, 21399, 22100, 22111, 22212, 22301, 22302, 41402, 70012, 72106, 90010, 92012 and the cut off score of 69.

Shortly after the draw On November 1,  Saskatchewan made an announcement regarding the expansion of eligibility for workers in the province to apply for residence (PR) through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). As of this announcement, employees in intermediate and lower-skilled jobs working inside the province may apply for the SINP’s Existing Work Permit stream, as long as they fulfil the prerequisites for both the stream and the SINP overall. The expansion of eligible occupations for PR means the permit holders from over 279 different occupations are newly eligible to stay permanently in Saskatchewan—including truck drivers, farm labourers, retail sales staff, nurses’ aides and many more. Previously only newcomers in high-skilled (TEER 0,1,2, or 3) and designated trades were eligible to apply for PR through the stream. The purpose of this change is to meet Saskatchewan Labor shortage, as stated by Martensville-Warman MLA Terry Jenson

“Through this expansion, our government is improving worker retention and directly addressing labour market gaps that Saskatchewan employers currently face,”

Applying for the SINP (Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program) is a straightforward process, but it requires careful attention to detail. The first step is to determine your eligibility by reviewing the program’s requirements and ensuring that you meet the criteria. Once your application is submitted, it will be assessed by immigration officers who will review your qualifications and determine if you meet the minimum requirements. If your application is successful, you will receive an invitation to apply for provincial nomination through a draw. Upon receiving this invitation, you must submit the required documents within the given timeframe. It is important to note that incomplete or inaccurate applications may be rejected or delayed.
