BC PNP DRAW UPDATE 68 INVITATIONS

The province of British Columbia continued its weekly draw tradition by issuing 68 invitations to apply for permanent residence in the latest round of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) on June 4, 2024.

Targeted Draw Focus

This most recent draw adhered to BC’s recent practice of holding targeted drawings that were centered on particular occupations thought to be crucial to the province’s economic requirements. The 68 invitations were spread across four targeted categories:

Technology Jobs

Jobs in technology Under BC PNP’s skilled worker and international programs, invitations were sent to 33 candidates with experience in 35 targeted tech occupations, such as cybersecurity specialists, web developers, data scientists, and software engineers.

Early Childhood Education

Eight invites were sent to profiles, including prior experience working as teachers or helpers to early childhood educators.

Construction Jobs

Jobs in Construction BC sent out 14 invites to candidates with expertise in 25 construction-related trades, including sheet metal workers, electricians, plumbers, and carpenters, in an effort to alleviate the labor shortages.

Medical Careers

Thirteen Medical Careers invites were sent to applicants with backgrounds in 39 specific professions, including medical technologists, nurses, physicians, and therapists, in recognition of the need for more healthcare workers.

Targeted Draw Strategy

The Latest in a Series of Targeted Draws Over recent months, the BC PNP Draw Update has noticeably shifted its approach to focus draws on specific in-demand occupations rather than holding general draws open to all. This targeted draw strategy aims to address identified labor gaps across key sectors in British Columbia.

Upcoming Draw & Intake Periods
Immigration candidates and prospective BC PNP Draw Update applicants can expect the next draw to be held on or around June 11th. Based on the current pattern, it will likely focus on skilled workers in construction, healthcare, and potentially early childhood education streams.

Intake Period Details

The current BC PNP Draw Update intake period remains open until June 14th at 9am PST for the skilled worker and international graduate categories. This offers qualified applicants the chance to submit their profiles before the program fills up, maybe to the maximum number of spots available.

Families looking to reunite, businesses seeking skilled labor, and newcomers aiming to make BC their new home will be keeping a close eye on these frequent invitation rounds and intake periods.
