Express Entry Health care Draw Spreads the Love with Targeted
Valentine’s Day Draw for Healthcare Workers
This Valentine’s Day, IRCC is showing some love for healthcare workers through Express Entry! On February 14th, 2024, a category-specific draw was held inviting 3,500 healthcare candidates towards permanent residency.
The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 422 – lower than most all-program draws. This enabled candidates across a spectrum of healthcare occupations in demand across Canada’s provinces to qualify.
Key Healthcare Roles Targeted
Nurses, doctors, pharmacists and medical technologists were among the key roles drawn to fulfill critical labor market shortages. Provinces like Ontario, Alberta and Manitoba have acute healthcare staffing needs, and this special draw aids their recruitment efforts.
On February 13th, a total of 1,490 fortunate individuals were granted invitations to apply (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residency (PR) in a general draw.
Comparison
Similar to previous draws, the selection process was executed using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), and candidates needed to achieve a minimum score of 535 or above to be eligible for consideration.
