Receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) under Canada’s Express Entry system is a momentous achievement, marking the transition from a hopeful applicant to a candidate on the verge of becoming a permanent resident. However, this milestone is just the beginning of a more detailed process. To ensure a successful journey to Canadian permanent residency, it’s essential to understand and carefully follow the steps that come after receiving an ITA.

The next steps are as follows:

  1. Accepting the invitation
  2. Gathering Documents
  3. Completing and Submitting your application
Predictions for the rest of August

The first Express Entry draw for August 2024 has captured the attention of many, marking yet another significant moment in Canada’s immigration landscape. This draw comes hot on the heels of a record-breaking series of draws in July 2024, setting a high benchmark for what candidates can expect in the coming months.

The first draw of August 2024 was another PNP-focused draw, in line with the IRCC’s consistent draw schedule that we’ve observed since mid-June. Every two weeks on Tuesdays, the IRCC has held PNP draws, creating a reliable rhythm for candidates. This consistency is likely a relief for many, especially those who recall the unpredictable draw schedules that characterized May and June 2024.

However, this draw brought with it a slight increase in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. While the exact CRS cut-off was higher than in some previous PNP rounds, it wasn’t unexpected. The number of invitations sent out this time—763—was relatively small compared to earlier PNP draws in 2024. This might indicate a slight tightening of the selection process or simply reflect the ongoing adjustments in Canada’s immigration strategy.

The IRCC’s approach in recent months suggests a careful balancing act between meeting immigration targets and managing the influx of applications. The bi-weekly PNP/CEC draw trend is likely to continue, at least for the next few months. This structured approach helps maintain a steady flow of ITAs while giving candidates a clear sense of what to expect.

For those still in the Express Entry pool, the message is clear: preparation is key. With CRS scores showing an upward trend and the number of ITAs fluctuating, candidates must focus on maximizing their profiles’ potential. This might involve improving language test scores, gaining additional work experience, or securing a provincial nomination to boost CRS scores.

What is the First Express Entry Draw

Canada’s main method for processing skilled worker applications for permanent residency is called Express Entry. This point-based method, which was implemented in 2015, simplifies the process of choosing and inviting suitable applicants to meet national labor market demands. Many applications submitted through Express Entry are handled in six months or fewer, making it renowned for its rapid processing timeframes. Candidates with the highest scores are given priority in a transparent and merit-based selection process that is ensured by the CRS system.

As July draws to a close, the busy pace of the First Express Entry draw indicates the Canadian government’s proactive approach to immigration. By targeting specific skills and qualifications, and focusing on candidates already in Canada the department introduced a new goal of reducing and stabilizing the number of temporary residents in Canada while also meeting its permanent resident targets as outlined in the Immigration Levels Plan. IRCC aims to meet the country’s economic needs and strengthen its labor market through this.

EE As we move further into August 2024, staying informed about the latest draw results and trends will be crucial. Candidates should also be prepared for possible shifts in the draw schedule or criteria, as the IRCC continues to fine-tune its immigration strategies to meet Canada’s evolving needs.

In conclusion, the first Express Entry draw of August 2024 has set the stage for what promises to be an eventful month. With consistency in the draw schedule and slight changes in CRS scores, candidates should remain vigilant and proactive in their efforts to secure an ITA
