Previous Draw
This follows a series of program-specific draws in recent months, such as the June 19 draw, which invited 1,499 PNP candidates with a minimum CRS score of 663.
In May, the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted a PNP-only draw inviting 2,985 candidates and another draw for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) inviting 3,000 candidates. These program-specific draws target candidates with specific qualifications and experiences, such as those nominated by provinces or with Canadian work experience.
Program-specific draws focus on applicants from the CEC, Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), or Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). PNP-only draws consider candidates nominated through Express Entry-aligned PNP streams, known as enhanced nominations.
These draws aim to balance the number of temporary residents and meet the Immigration Levels Plan’s target for “Federal High Skilled Workers.” Many temporary residents, including those with work or study permits, apply for permanent residency through CEC or PNP streams, helping to stabilize the high levels of temporary residents in Canada.
What’s Next?
If you received an invitation in the latest Express Entry draw, you have 60 days to submit your complete application for permanent residency to IRCC. When multiple candidates have the lowest score, the tie-breaking rule is based on the date and time of their Express Entry profile submission.
Do Not Lose Hope!
If you weren’t invited to this draw, your Express Entry profile remains active for 12 months from submission. There’s no need to withdraw it; you might receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a future draw.
This draw follows the trend of recent Express Entry draws, focusing on specific categories such as PNP and targeted skills, which are instrumental in meeting Canada’s economic and demographic needs. As the CRS score cutoff was relatively high, candidates are encouraged to improve their profiles, such as obtaining a provincial nomination, to enhance their chances in future draws.
Draw Pattern
Every two weeks, on Wednesdays, Express Entry drawings are usually held. The IRCC sets the minimum CRS score, draw type, and number of ITAs. The Canadian economy, the employment market, and the immigration goals outlined in the Canada Immigration Level Plans 2024–2026 are some of the variables that affect this.
A lot of influential bodies anticipate another draw this week, probably category-based on, but CEC-only draws are also a possibility.
The first Express Entry draw of July 2024 has continued the trend of focusing on candidates with provincial nominations, emphasizing the importance of targeted skills and qualifications in meeting Canada’s economic and demographic needs. With a minimum CRS score of 739, this draw demonstrates the competitive nature of the process, encouraging candidates to enhance their profiles through provincial nominations or other means. Those who did not receive an invitation should remain hopeful, as their profiles stay active for 12 months, providing future opportunities for permanent residency in Canada.
