Manitoba’s Special Immigration Draw for Ukraine: Providing Support and Opportunities

In response to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted a special immigration draw on January 30, marking Draw #22. A total of 117 Ukrainian applicants have been issued Letters of Advice, signaling Manitoba’s commitment to providing support and opportunities for those affected.

Facilitating Immigration: MPNP’s Expressions of Interest Draws

The MPNP actively addresses the situation by extending a helping hand to individuals meeting its eligibility criteria. Expressions of Interest draws will be conducted, facilitating the Immigration Measures for Ukraine draw process for those directly impacted by the events in Ukraine.

Manitoba’s Dedication During Crisis

This initiative underscores Manitoba’s dedication to humanitarian efforts and showcases the province’s commitment to welcoming and integrating newcomers, especially during challenging times.

Criteria for Ukrainian Applicants: MPNP’s Requirements

Citizens of Ukraine may apply for provincial emergency measures by submitting an EOI to the MPNP if they possess:

  • Ukrainian citizenship
  • minimum CLB 4 supported by a valid IELTS or CELPIP test;
  • a connection to Manitoba established (friends, family, distant relatives, community support, prior employment or studies in Manitoba);
  • an MPNP assessment score of at least 60 points; and the ability to meet all other requirements of the skilled worker overseas pathway, including having enough money for settlement

Support Measures Since March 2022

Since March 9, 2022, special MPNP Expression of Interest (EOI) draws have been held on a regular basis.

Starting on February 22, 2022, Manitoba started to reimburse the MPNP application processing fees for any application where the primary applicant is a citizen of Ukraine.

EOI Profile Requirement

An Expression of Interest (EOI) profile must be made by anyone wishing to apply to the MPNP. To build an EOI profile and for additional information regarding the MPNP EOI process, please visit the MPNP website.

In order to leverage current relationships and facilitate the migration of Ukrainians who wish to settle in Manitoba, Manitoba is collaborating closely with regional and cultural communities.

MPNP is providing expedited processing for all applications submitted by nationals of Ukraine.
