Manitoba Issues 276 Letters of Advice to Apply in Latest PNP Draw

On December 27, 2024, Manitoba held its 235th Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw, extending 276 Letters of Advice to Apply (LOAs). This latest round underscores the province’s ongoing commitment to attracting skilled professionals to meet labor market demands and support its economic development across various key sectors.

Breakdown of Invitations

The latest draw focused on candidates in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category, with key details as follows:

  • A total of 239 Letters of Advice to Apply (LOAs) were issued to qualified skilled workers currently residing in Manitoba, with the lowest score among those invited being 857.

Additionally, Manitoba targeted specific occupations through its Occupation-Specific Selection:

In this draw, 18 Letters of Advice to Apply (LOAs) were issued to candidates in specific high-demand occupations as identified by the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021, including:

  • 31101 – Specialists in surgery
  • 31102 – General practitioners and family physicians
  • 31301 – Registered nurses and psychiatric nurses
  • 31302 – Nurse practitioners
  • 73301 – Bus drivers, subway operators, and other transit professionals

Additionally, 19 LOAs were granted to candidates in the NOC unit group 60030 (Restaurant and Food Service Managers), with a cut-off score of 632.

Important Notes for Candidates

Manitoba provided clarity on why some candidates with higher scores might not have received an LOA. Common reasons include:

  1. Candidates may not receive an invitation if they fail to submit a valid test number for an approved third-party language proficiency test.
  2. Having language test results that are no longer valid.
  3. Not providing a valid invitation number if previously invited under a strategic recruitment initiative.
Strategic Focus

This draw underscores Manitoba’s focus on addressing labor shortages in critical sectors such as healthcare, public transit, and food services. By targeting specific occupations, the province ensures that essential roles are filled with qualified professionals, strengthening its economy and communities.

Conclusion

Manitoba’s 235th PNP draw highlights its proactive approach to attracting skilled workers and addressing workforce demands. With 276 LOAs issued, the province continues to pave the way for economic growth and community development.
