MANITOBA PNP’S FEBRUARY 8, 2024 DRAW: A GATEWAY TO PERMANENT RESIDENCE

In the recent Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) draw, a total of 282 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued across three main streams: Skilled Worker in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Worker Overseas.

Skilled Worker in Manitoba PNP: Invitations and Criteria

For Skilled Worker in Manitoba PNP, 151 LAAs were issued to profiles declaring a Manitoba PNP Supporter who is a close relative – a Canadian permanent resident or citizen established in Manitoba for at least one year. The lowest-ranked candidate invited had a ranking score of 619.

International Education Stream: Targeting Global Talent

In the International Education Stream, 83 LAAs were issued to profiles meeting eligibility requirements. This stream targets individuals with international education backgrounds. Specific 

Skilled Worker Overseas: Strategic Recruitment Initiatives

For Skilled Worker Overseas, 48 LAAs(letter of advice to apply)  were issued to profiles directly invited by MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative. The lowest-ranked candidate invited in this category had a ranking score of 713.

Breakdown 

Among the 282 LAAs, 26 were issued to candidates with a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code, showcasing integration with the federal Express Entry system.

Emphasizing Manitoba’s Immigration Strategy

These draws highlight Manitoba’s efforts to attract skilled workers, international graduates, and candidates with strategic recruitment initiatives, emphasizing ties to the province through close relatives and supporters.

As of January 31, MPNP faces processing delays exceeding six months due to a surge in applications. The February 8 draw in Manitoba PNP follows a series of draws in January 2024, where MPNP issued a total of 815 invitations for permanent residency. Notably, 102 invitations were extended to candidates possessing both a job seeker validation code and a valid Express Entry profile. These draws highlight ongoing efforts to manage a high application volume and select skilled candidates for immigration to Manitoba.
