Ontario Invites 2,281 Candidates in New Tech-Focused PNP Draw

Ontario held its latest round of invitations for the Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream on March 21, 2024. In this targeted draw, the Ontario PNP Draw Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) issued 2,281 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to candidates with experience in high-demand technology occupations.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Eligibility Criteria To receive an NOI in this draw, candidates were required to have a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 468 and 480 points. Additionally, they needed to have work experience in one of the following technology occupations:

  • Computer and information systems managers
  • Data scientists
  • Cybersecurity specialists
  • Business systems specialists
  • Information systems specialists
  • Database analysts and data administrators
  • Computer systems developers and programmers
  • Software engineers and designers
  • Software developers and programmers
  • Web designers
  • Web developers and programmers
  • Computer engineers
  • Computer network technicians
  • User support technicians
  • Information systems testing technicians

The OINP prioritized these tech roles to support Ontario’s rapidly growing technology sector and address labor market needs.

Key PNP Draw Pathway

The Ontario PNP Draw remains a crucial immigration pathway to Canada, with the province issuing over 14,700 NOIs across its streams in 2024 so far. 8,589 NOIs from the well-liked Human Capital Priorities stream—the focus of this most recent draw—are among them. As the Ontario PNP Draw continues to drive economic growth, the province is leveraging the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)to attract and retain global talent, especially in key sectors like technology.
