OINP Targets Skilled Trades Workers in Latest Express ENtry Draw

Today the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has once again tapped the Latest Express Entry Draw pool to target skilled trades workers for immigration to the province. In a Latest Express Entry Draw held on January 11, 2024, the OINP issued Notifications of Interest to 2,552 Express Entry candidates with scores in the 350-424 CRS range.

Focus on Skilled Trades Stream

This latest invitation round was focused exclusively on the OINP’s Express Entry Skilled Trades stream. This pathway enables the province to select qualified skilled trades workers who have existing profiles in the federal Express Entry pool and nominate them for permanent residence.

The Latest Express Entry Draw came out on January 9th and OINP invited 1,451 candidates to apply through the Foreign Worker Stream out of which 630 Invites were sent to candidates who had experience under skill Trade. This stream is for foreign nationals with skilled work experience in Ontario who do not have an Express Entry profile.

In order to accept provincial nominations, candidates invited in today’s Latest Express Entry Draw will have 45 days to reply with a full application. 

These profiles will receive 600 points upon receiving an OINP nomination, raising their CRS score to 1,073–1,080, which ensures their inclusion in the Latest Express Entry Draw.
