Second category based draw of 2024 targeting French speakers

2024’S SECOND CATEGORY DRAW AIMS AT FRENCH SPEAKERS:-

On 29th February Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held its Second Express Entry draw of the week.

Significant Reduction in Invitations with Emphasis on French Language Skills

In the most recent Express Entry draw, the government has given Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to 2500 applicants. This draw is especially significant since it emphasises skill in the French language. A sharp decline of invitations sent in this draw was seen from 7000 to 2500.

Lower CRS Score Requirement Highlights French Language Proficiency

A minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 336 was required of candidates, 29 points lower than the previously held on February 1st. This CRS score is the lowest it has ever been, emphasizing the value of language proficiency, especially in French.

Canada’s Immigration Targets for Francophones

This helps Canada reach its immigration targets for francophones by explicitly focusing on fluent French speakers living outside of Quebec.
