Second express entry draw in a month

1,000 invitations were sent out in a category-based selection draw for individuals with professional expertise in trade occupations in the most recent Second Express Entry draw, which took place on December 19, 2023. A minimum CRS score of 425 was necessary for invited candidates to be evaluated for an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residency.

Rare Occurrence of Category-Based Draws

The IRCC held a category-based draw specifically for candidates in the Trade Occupations category just twice. This kind of Second express entry draw was done previously on August 03, 2023.

If many candidates have the lowest score, the cut-off is determined by the time and date on which their Second express entry draw profiles were submitted.

*Invitations to apply for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades Program may be extended following this round of interviews.

Qualification for Trade Occupations

To be qualified for the Trade Occupations category, you have to:

Have a minimum of six months of full-time, uninterrupted work experience in a trade occupation that falls within the Trade Occupations category, either in Canada or overseas, during the last three years.

Assessment Criteria

1. Skills: Increase your CRS points by obtaining relevant education, training, or skills. 

2. Language Proficiency: It is essential to be proficient in either French or English.

3. Work Experience: You can gain points if you have relevant job experience in a skilled trade.

4. Provincial Nomination: Candidates who have already been nominated by a province are awarded extra CRS points.

5. Age: Younger candidates receive more points

6. Arranged Employment: You can gain additional CRS points if you have a legitimate employment offer from a Canadian company.
