STRONG FRENCH LANGUAGE SKILLS :
Strong French language skills are widely used in Canada and are integral to the linguistic and cultural fabric of the nation. French, along with English, is an official language in Canada, which signifies the country’s dedication to bilingualism and multiculturalism.

The two largest French-speaking regions in Canada are located in New Brunswick and Quebec. The majority language in Quebec, the largest province in terms of territory, is French.
However Canada is aiming for more Strong French language skills speakers to settle in other provinces as well. These past years Canada has encouraged a lot of Francophones and will continue to encourage them to settle and work in Canada especially since Sean Fraser in a written statement said “The enrichment of linguistic, demographic, and economic uniqueness of Francophone communities makes the contribution of Francophone immigration even more critical.”
Ever since the launch of category- based selection for Express Entry which highly focuses on Strong French language skills Proficiency it has become easy for applicants with bilingual skills to get an invitation. The first ever category- based draw for French speakers was held on July 7th 2023 with 2,300 ITA’s and a minimum CRS score of 439.
Other than Francophones program there are other pathways to enter Canada such as “Ontario French-Speaking Skilled Worker” which is one of the Human Capital streams of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee It is a part of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) run by the Ontario government, and falls under the Human Capital stream. The French-speaking Skilled Worker program is open to Express Entry candidates who demonstrate proficiency in both French and English and who have the potential to be highly skilled workers in the province. In Ontario’s Employer Job Offer and Graduate streams, bilingual French and English speakers gain extra points in addition to the Strong French language skills Skilled Worker Stream (FSSWS). New Brunswick, for example, has a highly Francophone and bilingual population. The province’s New Brunswick Strategic Initiative Stream is dedicated exclusively to French speakers who have the skills and work experience to contribute to New Brunswick’s economy which is expected to reopen in early 2024.
