Overview of the Foreign Worker Stream under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), a provincial immigration route that permits Ontario to nominate people for permanent residency based on its unique labour market needs, includes the Foreign Worker Stream. This stream is intended for highly qualified foreign workers who are offered a position in Ontario and have the experience and qualifications needed to boost the economy of the region. The program ensures that Ontario stays competitive in industries where talent shortages are more severe by enabling firms to hire competent foreign workers to fill jobs that are hard to fill with local labour.
