PEI PNP Targets Key Sectors
Prince Edward Island held its latest Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) draw on April 4, 2024, issuing 66 invitations to apply for permanent residency under the Labour and Express Entry category.
This targeted draw focused on bringing in skilled workers to support PEI’s healthcare, construction, and manufacturing industries – all critical sectors for the province’s economy.
Invitation Date | Business Work Permit Entrepreneur Invitations | Minimum Point Threshold for Business Invitations | Labour & Express Entry Invitations | Total Invitations | Selection Attributes |
4/4/2024 | – | – | 66 | 66 | Invitations were issued to individuals working in the Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Early Childhood Education sectors. |
By issuing invitations to candidates with experience in these in-demand occupations, PEI is actively working to recruit the talent needed to address labor shortages and drive economic growth across the island.
The lower draw size of 66 invitations, compared to previous PEI PNP draws, indicates the province is being selective in its nomination of candidates whose skills and qualifications closely align with PEI’s specific workforce needs.
This strategic approach allows PEI to utilize the PNP to fill existing gaps in the labor market and support the continued development of the province. As PEI looks to the future, we can expect to see the PNP continue playing a vital role in the province’s immigration and economic plans.
